Abstract
Here is a 108 page facsimile of a work first done in Paris by Denn in Paris in 1822. I ordered it as an alternative to a more version of about 1830 on ABE costing over $200. It turns out that these are different editions with different illustrations. After a frontispiece there are five pages featuring two illustrations each. They face 20, 37, 55, 66, and 92. The rough and heavily inked character of a facsimile like this makes for poor illustrations. The fables are rendered in prose. Before the introduction ("Mes chers enfans"), there is a page of the alphabet and several pages of frequent syllables. "Historiettes" appear on 13-36, followed by fables. Produced on demand. 6" x 9". There is no T of C or AI. For now, I am happy not to have spent the $200!
