INTRODUCTION|Within the arsenal of crime detection tools available to law enforcement is electronic surveillance. One of the best uses of electronic surveillance is to investigate and ultimately prosecute conspiracies, other organized criminal activity, or ongoing criminal activity. Included among the common forms of electronic surveillance are wiretaps and implants ("bugs"). Such electronic surveillance can be very beneficial to law enforcement because of the extremely intrusive nature of the surveillance.
