Abstract
FIRST PARAGRAPH(S)|As we dedicate this Nebraska Edition of the Creighton Law Review to Judge Elizabeth D. Pittman and Professor Frances Ryan, I am reminded that two particularly important events occurred at Creighton University in relation to these two exceptional scholars twenty-five years ago.|First, in the spring of 1973, Creighton University bestowed a Doctor of Laws - honoris causa - upon Judge Elizabeth D. Pittman. It was apparent to all what this pioneering woman had accomplished, and that this honor had been earned many times over by Judge Pittman. Her exemplary life as an involved citizen, lawyer, and public servant - which is so eloquently set forth by Professor Smith in this issue of the Law Review - stands forever as an example for all who make their way through uncharted waters. The fact that Judge Pittman earned her law degree from Creighton University is of great pride to those of us who teach here, and it is particularly fitting that we honor her memory fifty years after she earned her J.D...
