Advent is over.|| Advent means coming. Tomorrow we commemorate the coming of God into human history in a very real way. The preparation and waiting is over. What were we preparing for? What are we waiting for?|| A Second Coming?...the reign of God; the reign of God in our hearts?|| Would we know that if it happened? What would that look like? Does the baby Jesus look like our idea of God? Do the sorrows of the world look like the joy of God's presence?||Immanuel means God with us; God within us. Did we prepare our hearts for God? Did we empty ourselves so God can dwell within us? Have we made room for God in our life? What would this coming look like?|| Peace in our world....|Joy in our hearts.....| Kindness to our neighbors...| Goodness towards all....| Patience with one another...| Faithfulness to our promises...| Self-control in all that we do...| Humility so we can truly hear what others are saying...|| Not at all what we might expect, but what God is waiting for. What are you waiting for?||"In the tender compassion of our God the dawn from on high shall break upon us, to shine on those who dwell in darkness and the shadow of death, and to guide our feet into the way of peace." (Lk 1:78-79)|| The Silence of the cave| The Silence of the pastures| The Silence of the night sky| Is shattered by a song of praise that sounds through the ages bringing joy and peace to the world.||The Darkness of the cave| The Darkness of the pastures| The Darkness of the night sky| Is broken by a light, by the light of glory that dispels all darkness for all time.||"Forever I will sing the goodness of the Lord!"
