Abstract
The article offers information on the integration of tax-based service learning projects in the U.S. It defines service learning as a teaching approach in which specific curricular learning objectives are combined with community service. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is examined. It adds that tax applications for service learning opportunities are not limited within the VITA program and nonprofit organization tax compliance.
