Abstract
The collegiate press is big business. In the state of Nebraska alone, the newspapers of the University of Nebraska system and the state colleges reach more than thirty-four thousand readers. In some communities the collegiate press exceeds the circulation of the local newspaper....
If the collegiate press is private it could only be compelled to print a proffered advertisement if there is a general constitutional mandate of access. As this Article will show, the United States Supreme Court has uniformly rejected a rule which would impose any such duty on the privately-owned American newspaper.
