Abstract
These are clever new, positive, rhymed fables, each with a delightful colored part-page illustration. I say "positive" because they seem, more than fables generally, to urge virtuous behavior. An example is "Der Wolf und die Hunde" (43). The snarling of two dogs fighting over a single bone attracts a wolf who offers to act as referee. "I will offer a judgment if you can both say that you do not begrudge the other this bone." Both drop the bone to say that they do not. The wolf snatches it away. When they object, he responds that he too long heard "My" and "Yours" and not "Ours." I say "new" because these are invented fables after the fashion of Aesop. Sometimes Roderich the Raven acts as a commentator on interaction between two other characters. My congratulations to Herr Harders!
