Abstract
This is a serious study of apparently multiple manuscripts offering a variety of texts and illustrations in the tradition of "Kalila and Dimna." A number of the illustrations are in color. I was not aware that there is such a proliferation of illustrated versions of "Kalila and Dimna." It is a delight to recognize old friends in the illustrations! That is, a good number of the illustrations here can be found in other visual presentations of and resources on the work. This dissertation may be the most comprehensive cataloguing of contributing manuscripts and their illustrations.
