Abstract

This edition is interiorly identical with a finer book published by the same publisher in 1854, but $45 cheaper! Like it, this copy is an octavo, 555 pages with an engraved portrait frontispiece after Hopwood, and an AI. I have a Walckenaer edition of 1839 and another published in 1910. The fables seem complete; they have footnotes. They are followed by a small selection of poems, "Fragments du Songe du Vaux," letters, sonnets, and translations.
