Abstract
This small book (4" x 6") offers 19 fables on 96 pages. Most of the illustrations are done by Harry Rountree. Among the best are his full-page illustrations of TMCM on 8, quite nicely colored by a young hand, and FS on 27. Many of the illustrations are crayon colored. Fables are followed by a set of questions introduced by "Things to Do," asking, for example, "What is a miser?" (39). I am surprised to find here "The Singing Cobbler" (77), a fable that I believe originates with La Fontaine.
