Abstract

"Printed in Great Britain by Amazon." That seems to be the extent of bibliographical information in this paperback booklet of 29 pages. The fox asks Crocus the crow first to dance and only then to sing. The cheese somehow falls diagonally into the fox's mouth. At the end of FC, a reader is offered three statements of what the fox's advice to the crow might be. If we turn the page, the same three are offered as the moral of the fable. In either case, there is a fourth option: "I think it means…." The same pattern holds at the end of CP. Three legitimate morals are articulated with a fourth option for the reader's personal opinion, and then all four are repeated. After the two stories, Linville thanks the reader for purchasing the book and says he has taught at various levels for 40 years. The crow looks suspiciously like an "angry bird" of the recently popular video game! 6" x 9".
