"An appreciation dinner honoring the Rev. John Markoe, S.J., will be held at 6:15 p. m. Saturday at the Creighton University Student Union Building. John Howard Griffith, author of ""Black Like Me, will be the main speaker. Father Markoe, ordained in 1928, has received man awards for his civil rights work. In 1947. he came to Creighton University and formed an inter racial group called the Omaha DePorres Club. Tickets can be purchased by calling Ken Shearer, John P. Miller or Mrs. Ray Metoyer. Proceeds will go to the Fafor needy Negro youths. the Markoe Scholarship Fund Father Markoe"
