This paperback edition of Aesop stands out first for its dramatic colored cover of “Quack Frog” from Arthur Rackham. There are nine strong Rackham full colored pages at the beginning, followed by occasional smaller black-and-white illustrations from Rackham. The bibliographical material claims 42 illustrations. There are some 110 fables on 244 pages, each with a clearly boxed moral. The texts are presented in English on left-hand pages, with Chinese on the right. The book comes with a matching bookmark featuring the same Quack Frog illustration. 5¾” x 8¼”.
