Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the feasibility of implementing a rearranged work week at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska. A rearranged work week is defined as a reallocation of working hours over a four day period which may include flexible starting times during the day and a reduction of total hours in a week.|The research and analysis will begin with a review of the history of the work week followed by a discussion of the role played by Labor and Government. Significant survey data will be reviewed and advantages and disadvantages cited. The study will then focus specifically on Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska, including the use of a model to test the feasibility of implementing the rearranged work week with recommendations for action.
