Abstract
This study purports to discover what solution to the problem of the administration of women students in Catholic colleges and universities in the United States has been made by the various institutions where women are enrolled in sufficiently large numbers to indicate the existence of such a problem. Co-educational colleges and universities are not listed as such, but women are included as members of the student bodies of some of the institutions for men.
Information bearing directly on the topic is meager. Periodic literature contributes nothing, nor has the problem been made the subject of thesis investigation at any time within the last ten years. One reason for the lack of available information may be the fact that comparatively few Catholic schools for men admit women in sufficient numbers to make their presence a source of administrative concern or difficulty. However, an examination of the bulletin, Universities and Colleges, Normal Schools, published by the National Catholic Welfare Conference, Department of Education, shows that a large number of women students are registered in some of these institutions.
