Abstract

This sixteen-page two-staple pamphlet (9¼" x 6¼") has simple drawings and sometimes non idiomatic prose to offer a traditional version of the story of the dog who does not help the donkey because the donkey had not helped the dog. The editor has problems with print overlapping images here. Surprisingly, when the wolf arrives, this dog tells the donkey to run. Does he not more normally tell the donkey -- as the donkey had told him -- to wait for help until the owner awakes? The last page is appropriately strong. As the solitary wolf looks over bones, the story, which last had the wolf catching the fleeing donkey, says this "The Donkey comes to his senses but…"
