Abstract

Planning, especially long-range planning is very vital to management. In this competitive and complicated business world long-range planning is found at the very heart of a growing and dynamic business organization. Long-range planning in the past was considered to be only a theoretical concept that was not yet developed for practical use. Not until after World War II did long-range planning develop from the theoretical stage to the practical stage. The concept is being constantly developed by the manager of both the large and small business. If corporations are going to survive, attain a high rate of profitability, and increase in size, it will be accomplished only through the use of long-range planning. | We have learned by study and observation that every animal in this world of ours has some type of defense that is its strong point. This includes man as well. It is planning which is the strongest defense of man. This leads us to explore further and capitalize on this quality if managers are going to keep business organizations alive and growing.
