Abstract

This is a highly colorful die-cut pamphlet about 3⅜" x 6". Its two outside covers are images taken from Perrette's right and left as she looks down at her lost milk. There are three two-color or three-color illustrations inside this one-staple pamphlet of some 12 pages. The centerfold is another lovely piece of art work. It has the maid holding her apron and doing a lovely dance-like step. In this pamphlet's prose expansion of La Fontaine's fable, Perrette loses the milk because she is skipping and frolicking like the young calf she looks forward to tending when she gets all the money she will get along the way. On the last two pages, one finds La Fontaine's verse text. Good find, Bertrand!
