I am surprised that I have not come across this book earlier. Perhaps the reason lies in the smallness of the edition. 6½” x 10”. Most of the pages are still uncut, and I did not disturb them. I look forward to the day when I have time to look into his study of the iconography applied to different fabulists. For now I will say only that the designs make an unusual impression in red.
