Abstract

Here is one of some 38 inexpensive Turkish editions of Aesop bought together. This book is distinguished by its verse, strong images, and shorter extent. As the closing T of C shows, it presents 24 fables from page 7 through page 70. A strong image of "The Bull and the Flea" comes first (7). My favorite images here are the four virtual silhouettes for MSA on 33-37. The milkmaid on 62 is already spilling while the pail is still on her head. Each new fable starts a new page. The front cover offers an image of Aesop as a bearded old man with a staff. There were earlier printings by other publishers in 1993 and 1996.
