Abstract

He said "Those who are healthy do not need a physician, but the sick do. I have not come to call the righteous to repentance but sinners." (Luke 5:31&32)|The power of Lent is the call to witness, to observe, to accompany, to reflect, to change your heart and mind. In Luke 5: 27-32 Levi, the tax collector was open to the invitation from Jesus to become an apostle and he said yes. As I pause and let this resonate I am overwhelmed at the enormity of Levi's ability to say yes. His yes meant he had a transformation within his heart and mind. What were the pre-events that made this transformation possible? I have to believe that his change in heart and mind were the result of an experience and his ability to quiet himself, to be silent, to reflect to listen and then to act.|I ask for the same blessing to pause, be silent, and to listen to God. Perhaps in my silence I can reflect on my past week(s), view my experiences from a different perspective, refocus, and redirect my actions away from my own needs. Can I do this? A song " You Say " from Lauren Daigle describes this the best.|So I believe and I know that saying yes means I have had a transformation of my heart and my mind. I pray for God's guidance when I say yes.
