Abstract

Here is a stylized children's book featuring classic wallpaper behind the images on both covers and again as the endpapers at both ends of the book. The illustrations follow several patterns. Many fables have at least one full-page colored illustration that includes two unequal panels. Each fable also includes other coloed designs, panels, or illustration. The front-cover features TH. The back cover's image of "The Stag at the Pool," repeated on 16, suggests the colored versions of Steinhoewel's work. Perhaps TT is the most dramatic of the full-page illustrations (40). 45 pages. 8½" x 11¼".
