Abstract
This frail number of a scholarly journal has come into our hands partially by accident. Still, I welcome it. Pfeffel has some wonderful fables to offer. What I did not see coming is the extent of this article on a moderately-known fabulist. The article runs from 343 to 471 and includes its own index. I have not taken time now to read it -- or even to cut its pages -- but it is here for the next person interested in understanding Pfeffel. "Strassburger Studien" describes itself as "Zeitschrift für Geschichte, Sprache und Litteratur des Elsasses."
