Abstract
Here is an imposing large book, 10" x 13". It takes the 1960 Fabbri edition of La Fontaine and adds an equal portion on Aesop, so that the book contains now some 113 pages. . The quality of the illustrations here surpasses the quality there. Two good sample illustrations might be of the cat slouched over a roof-beam in "The Cat and the Mice" and the cowboy in "The Horse and the Ass." There is a T of C of the whole book at the back. The texts here are La Fontaine's poetry, verbatim. The translator of the Greek by Aesop is not made clear. A beautiful book!
