Abstract
Childhood obesity is a rising epidemic in the United States. This clinical problem has become a significant public health concern as associated comorbidities contribute to its economic and social burden. Primary care providers play a critical role in identifying childhood obesity risk factors among patients and families. The purpose of this research article is to inform and educate primary care providers about community resources related to pediatric obesity, to discuss with the providers the importance of addressing childhood obesity in their practice, and to assess these providers’ attitudes and perceptions about community resources introduced to them. This study implemented a community resource guide and completed a descriptive analysis to identify primary care providers’ feedback regarding their impression of community resources and support on pediatric obesity.
