Abstract

Here is a print-upon-demand book of 100 typewritten pages. As the back cover says after its two typos, "28 fiction tales of bible morals and scripture." The book’s 28 stories are taken from contemporary life to illustrate scriptural wisdom. "The Chicken and the Eagle" (66) is quite in touch with what one might call the Aesopic fable world: the eagle finally escapes and flies, even though he was raised as a chicken. I struggled more with "The Other Son" (44), which seems meant as a modern application of "The Prodigal Son," but may be just as much about the two sons, one of whom said "yes" but did not obey while the other said "no" but obeyed. The storytelling in this story has problems with tenses.
