Abstract
Who is the Holy Family today? It's certainly not "Leave it to Beaver," "The Waltons," or "Father Knows Best." We seem to deal with bigger and more complicated problems today.||We try to teach one another how to cope in times of crisis; how to deal with compulsions, e.g. alcohol, drugs, gambling, violence, and not to give into them; how to be truthful when even leaders resort to lies; where to look for humor rather than violence; how to build honest behavior patterns and to stand up against dishonest ones; how to be loyal to persons and institutions.|Like Joseph, we have angels who come with words of nurturing, caring, direction for our lives. They may be our spouses, children, parents, a best friend, even an enemy. Some angel messages may be "look up and live....be yourself...hug and be hugged.....give yourself a pat on the back...Thank you......pick up your mat and walk......forgive him-her-yourself....peace.....love."|The Colossians reading reminds us of true holiness: generosity, respect, reverence, truth, love. Make room for Jesus in our hearts, look for Jesus in others. We can be family together.
