This book and a cassette tape are offered together for 8000 Won. I have enjoyed this book and found it exasperating. The art may be the best I have seen in this harvest of Korean books from a summer visit to Seoul. But the language errors are inexcusable! There are three fables: GA, TH, and TMCM. The grasshopper asks the ant why he does not stop working and have a fun (5). On the next page, the ant says I have full of food in the storage. The city mouse asks the country mouse How can you eat these flat food? (22). Once in the city, he encourages the country mouse Have yourself! (24). The last straw, if you can pardon the pun, is that the woman chasing the mice is swinging her bloom (29). Proofreaders, where are you?! The ant welcomes the grasshopper in from the cold in this version (10). As to the book's art, I am particularly taken with the unusually constructed birds who watch the tortoise-and-hare race, e.g., on 19. The attacking woman and cat at the town supper are exquisitely done (28). The last eight pages break the stories down into sections and offer Korean translations and vocabulary for each section. The tape offers good music and voices; it seems to jump right into a performance of the three stories without introduction--and then to repeat all three. The reverse side asks for repetition of words and phrases.en_US
