Abstract
Here is a small Florian with six illustrations. Perhaps its biggest surprise comes when we find a second title-page that includes "Nouvelle Édition" and gives the year of publication as 1820. Then there is an essay "De la Fable" from 5 through 34 without a signature or other indication who wrote it. Best of the illustrations shows the cat looking at the hunter through binoculars (56). Other illustrations are to be found as the frontispiece (mother and opossum and child); on the title-page (fable and truth); and on 122, 138, and 182, easily found by the heavier paper used for illustrations. There is an AI on 209-13. Genets Jeune is in Bodemann only for La Fontaine in 1806. After finishing my cataloguing, I found another copy already catalogued and thoroughly identical. I will keep both copies in the collection for several reasons, including the contrasting styles of binding the same book and the differing comments on the very same book. This comment corrects that one since there are six, not four, illustrations in the book.
