A between third and fourth draft version of my epic-length fantasy novel, Powder. In a world much different from ours, where gunpowder can be used by sorcerers called Blacknails to cast destructive magic, and humans are on the brink of another war with the spirits of the land, an infamous mercenary and a young Blacknail must survive the many forces set against them.
