    Creighton University Fact Book 1985-1986
(Creighton University Office of Institutional Research, 1987) Creighton University
This second edition of the Creighton University Fact Book, like the first, collects in one document a wide variety of facts and figures about the University. Most of the information it contains appears with appropriate explanation and detail in a wide variety of reports issued by the departments of the University. The Office of Institutional Research hopes that this collection of data will be useful and informative both to other departments within the University and to her friends everywhere. Reader's suggestions and comments will be welcomed. This 1985/36 edition has been improved and somewhat expanded over last year's as the result of users' input. Further changes will be incorporated as the Office is made aware of additional data needs and interests of those who use this book. The cooperation of many individuals throughout the University contributed to the completion of this work. The Office of Institutional Research is most appreciative of their assistance. A very special thank you goes to Kathy Adams, Secretary to the Office of Institutional Research, whose skills, energies and patience (particularly with the Director) took the charts through repeated revisions and brought ‘them to the form in which they are presented.

    Fact Book 1988-1989
(Creighton University Office pf Institutional Research, 1990) Creighton University
The Office of Institutional Research is pleased to present the 1988/1989 edition of the Creighton University Fact Book; it is the fifth in the series. Many of the statistics included in this work are also available in special reports issued by various divisions; the Fact Book serves to bring them all together in this single volume so that they are readily accessible. In response to suggestions from users and to requests for information that over the year have come into the Office, there have been additions to the data and changes in their presentation. Ideas about increasing the utility of the Fact Book are always welcomed. Two special notes about the charts are required. First, when a chart is expanded, as was done last year in giving the number of women on the faculty, no attempt is made to go back and find parallel data for the preceeding years. Any trends of change in those areas will rapidly become apparent. Secondly, if one tries to reconcile the ’'same'* data between two different charts, small discrepencies are likely to be found. This is especially true of student head counts. For the most part the differences result from the several sources of information having taken their "snapshots" of the University divisions involved at different times. A particularly obvious differential occurs when one compares the number of freshmen counted by the Office of Admissions and those reported as freshmen students for the School or College. Admissions is concerned only with first-time students; the Registrar includes all students who have not yet attained sophomore standing. Although remedying this situation is highly desirable, it is difficult to achieve. The Director and her staff thank all those throughout the University who have contributed to the 1988/1989 edition by supplying the necessary data and by making suggestions for more complete or better presentation of the accumulated facts. A very special thanks goes to Kathy Adams, secretary in the Office, for her patience and good humor as she worked through many revisions of the charts and text.

    Creighton University 1982-1992 Fact Book
(Creighton University Office of the President, 1993) Creighton University
The Creighton University Fact Book. 1982-1992. is the sixth in a series of Fact Books on the University. This Fact Book is compiled with the intention that it be a management tool for the University. The Fact Book 1982-1992 gives a picture of the recent history of the University in statistical and graphical form. It is understood that "facts" alone cannot tell the story of the life of the University. Facts can, however, show trends over a ten-year period and be studied to detect what our history has been and to see what patterns are emerging and impacting the present and our plans for the future. While individual sections of the Fact Book can be studied for insight into a particular area’s growth, the Fact Book is best approached by looking at each section as pieces of a mosaic of Creighton. Each section — while interesting in itself — is meant to contribute to the overall picture of Creighton as it was in 1992. In 1989 the University began a strategic planning process that involved over 400 faculty, staff, administrators, students, and alumni. Through this process the University has set as its overall goal TO BE THE OUTSTANDING COMPREHENSIVE JESUIT UNIVERSITY IN THE UNITED STATES. This Fact Book should assist managers of the University in planning to reach this goal. It is important to note that enrollment figures are the official University Registrar’s count and may be different from other sources which are tabulated at different times of the year. The information in The Creighton University Fact Book. 1982-1992. has been compiled largely by J. Walton Blackburn, Ph.D., Assistant to the President for Planning and Institutional Research, with the assistance and guidance of an active Advisory Committee composed of Leon G. Benschoter, Vice President for Information Systems; Patricia R. Callone, Assistant to the President; John A. Krecek, Registrar; Kathryn A. Thomas, Ph.D., Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs; Robert W. Rauscher, Director for Administrative Computing; and Stephanie R. Wernig, Ph.D., Associate Vice President for Student Services. Special acknowledgement needs to be given to Stephanie Wernig, Ph.D., who prepared the information in final form.
