Background|Interprofessional education (IPE) is rapidly becoming a requirement of
healthcare education; however, developing consistent and agreed-upon
standards across health profession schools is an arduous task. Cooperation
among schools is not only logistically difficult, but often ideologies of what
collaborative care looks like can differ. While individual schools can develop
their own IPE standards to measure their students' progress, the very notion of
interprofessional education calls for a collaborative and objective plan for how
IPE will be carried out in all of the health professional schools.
